ELDERS AWAY DAY

On May 24th twenty-two Elders spent a 'day away' at St. Mary's monastery to start organising the work of the Stewarty under a Unitary Constitution.  It was also a good opportunity to meet the Revd. Robert Pickles who will be our Interim Moderator during the vacancy when Colin retires on June 11th 2008.

At a meeting of the Kirk Session on May 13th 2008 the Minister and Elders congratulated Mary Herd on celebrating her 30 years ministry as a serving Elder of the Church of Scotland and presented her with a certificate to commemorate the event.

MARCH 2008

     The Annual Congregational Meeting.

On Palm Sunday, 16th March, there was one morning service only in the Stewartry in Forteviot Village Hall at 11am.

It was a memorable start to Holy Week and a good opportunity for the whole congregation to worship together.

After the service lunch (soup & various fillings for rolls) was served. Following lunch the meeting received the annual accounts and voted upon a proposal to adopt the Unitary Constitution.

The Group considering the re-ordering at Dunning displayed photographs of our existing four sanctuaries as well as photographs of some other churches visited that have already been re-ordered.  The congregation were invited to give feedback on what they saw as well as ideas for changes at Dunning.
