Dunning Church Centenary Celebrations
The centenary of the opening of St. Paul's church took place earlier in
2009 , various events took place to mark this special anniversary.
Reordering of the church and associated buildings
to improve access to the spaces available continues. The project
group continues to meet
and their deliberations are minuted. Copies of the minutes are available in
each of the Stewartry's four sanctuaries and can be viewed here by clicking on
the button below. Members of the Stewartry are encouraged to keep up to date
with proposals and ask questions of any member of this group throughout the
planning stages.
Dunning Church Reordering
The first phase of a £40,000 upgrade of St
Paul's church, Dunning, has now been completed. New
lighting has been installed that displays the roof and brightens the
chancel; new carpet has been laid in the aisles and some changes have
been competed to the layout of the chancel area to create a space that
is more focused on the communion table; the vestry has been overhauled
and brightened.
During October further improvements to the
facilities at the church will begin: the toilet is to be upgraded to
be more suitable for people with disabilities: doors will be widened
and new facilities installed. Storage in the hall will be improved
and there will be some redecoration. The kitchen will also be brought
up to date.
More details of this reordering project can
be found in the Harvest edition of the Banner magazine and minutes of
the Reordering group's meetings are available to view below.
